"For the sake of poetry" - Sunil Ganguli; Posted by Hello

Friends - a la John Denver!

"Friends I will remember you, think of you
Pray for you
And when another day is through
I'll still be friends with you"

Friends!

Another sunset at the western sea! The same phenomenon .. everyday looks so different. This reminds me a friend of mine who used to go to the seashore almost everyday to have a glimpse of that .. but unfortunately never managed to take a snap of the sunset .. even I could not be of much help .. it was only a few occasions that I was there to accompany ..

TIFR seashore .. at first sight it enthralled me .. but these days it became such a regular event that I hardly manage to go there .. but the ever-forgiving nature always comes ready with soemthing new to offer!

In the last one month I got a few very good friends .. I am very fortunate to be always in nice companies. Some genuinely good people - caring, affectionate, and above all very good human beings. More interesting it becomes when I start looking back and try to remember the first day I started interacting with them .. sometimes it gives me a feeling as if I have been knowing these people for so long .. that I do not feel like analysing the initial days of our meetings .. or the specific incidents that brought me so close to them.

Gradually I started forming a 'family of friends' here at TIFR as well.. a year back it harldy seemed to be a possibility.

Long live friendship .. long live my friends ..

Present tense!

Yesterday I talked to two of my close friends after a long time .. one from Bangalore and one from Kolkata .. when I called them up both of them had gone to sleep .. so early? I wondered .. forgetting that the clock was nearing midnight .. these days my schedule for work has changed so much that the routines of 'normal' people satying at home surprise me a lot.

Coming to this issue .. sleeping .. this is perhaps one of my loveliest pastimes. But recently, I am deprived of this wonderful art! This is the problem of having your guide's office next door and having the boss in the office from 9 in the morning to midnight .. as he loves to stay among the crowd (read students) .. our lives have become miserable!!

On top that .. the ambience of one's office matters a lot .. right now we are having a very serious visitor to our group who is sharing the office with me .. the only interaction I have with that person is the "Hi" in the morning and "Good night" at night. How moronic it can be (you can imagine) .. when your machine hangs up in the middle of plotting and then to get relieved from that frustration you tend to look for someone to talk to .. to share some little PJs .. and find a very serious face glued either to the book or to the machine!

That's why, life is, of late, not as beautiful as it was..
