A still from 'Parinita' Posted by Hello

Parinita

Was listening to the songs from the upcoming movie Parinita .. based on a Sarat Chandra classic ..

actually some of the music with the touch of old melody are excellent .. infact one of the songs (sona man ka aangan) is 'inspired' by a Rabindrasangeet: "phoole phoole dhole dhole bohe ki ba mridu bay" .. but the pick of the lot is perhaps either of "piya bole" or "Rat hamaari to" .. shall be looking forward to watching the movie once it comes in the theatres! Interested listeners are welcome to

Lazy days ..

There is a word in Bengali udasin which I cannot translate. It is something like a pensive state of detachedness.. I have been udergoing this state for a while. I have been trying my best to study but some incident or the other in the past a few days making me unable to work and then after dinner I am feeling very lazy for study .. as a result I have not done anything constructive in the recent past. That is making me feel guilty now .. I know I need to get rid of this state but I do not how to ..

I am feeling indifferent to the world surrounding me .. and some shocking news from Calcutta has made me even more worried .. that relates to one of my school friends .. his family .. in the middle of all these I am actually feeling jobless .. or rather aimless to be precise .. I am doing things not being very focussed .. this has to end soon ..

Remembering Tagore:
"Hal chhere aaj boshe achhi ami chhuti ne kaharo pichhutei;
mon nahi mor kichhutei nahi kichhutei .."

- [I am passing time idly/hopelessly not running after anything/anybody; I do not have attention into any single thing on earth] (taken from the poem Udasin (Indifferent) by Tagore.

Mind Without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up

into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason

has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Children of Heaven

Here is something that is highly recommended! I have just seen the movie and want everyone to see it! I watched the whole movie without the English subtitles but still liked it and planning to watch it atleast one more time with the subtitles! Hat's off to Majid Majidi, the Iranian film director!
